Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on the occasion of Deepavali, inaugurated a newly constructed 33/11 KV power grid in Balangir district, built at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Balangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo and Balangir District Collector Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar, according to an official press release.
Following the inauguration, a public meeting was held, presided over by Tata Power official Ashish Kumar Panda.
The installation of this new power grid is expected to provide high-quality electricity to approximately 5,000 domestic consumers across 30 villages in six gram panchayats.
Additionally, around 400 lift irrigation consumers, along with a large number of farmers, will benefit from the 24/7 power supply.
During his address, Singh Deo highlighted that the grid is a significant step toward enhancing the quality of life for residents in the area.
He noted that construction on the grid began in 2018 and expressed satisfaction that this long-awaited demand of the people has now been met.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to visit Patnagarh on November 2 to participate in several programs related to the development of the region.
