Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmer’s Empowerment, Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Monday reviewed the implementation of flagship schemes of the Energy Department such as PM Surya Ghar and PM-KUSUM. These two pivotal initiatives drive Odisha’s clean energy transformation.
Deputy CM Singh Deo stated that Odisha stands resolute in its pursuit of a sustainable, self-reliant energy future—where innovation meets inclusion, and every household and farmer is empowered through renewable solutions. Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, a total of 1,28,336 applications have been received, out of which 1,27,820 applications have been feasibility-approved. Additionally, 33.6 MW capacity has already been installed. Likewise, under the PM-KUSUM scheme, 50 MW capacity has been approved by OERC.
Deputy CM Singh Deo also urged the Energy Department to expedite grievance redressal, especially issues raised via the Chief Minister’s Grievance portal. He directed the department to conduct regular performance evaluations of vendors, with provisions to deregister underperformers.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Energy, Vishal Dev; FA-cum-Special Secretary Debidutta Tripathy; Additional Secretary Saidutta Biplab Keshari Pradhan; along with senior officials from OREDA, TP Central Odisha, and the Energy Department. They presented detailed updates and laid out a strategic roadmap to accelerate the schemes’ implementation.
