Balasore: Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister, Pravati Parida, visited Balasore today to review the ongoing development works at Talasari and Chandipur beaches. During her visit, she announced significant financial allocations and tourism initiatives aimed at enhancing the region’s appeal as a premier tourist destination.

Parida declared a grant of ₹10 crore for the development of the Bhusandeswar Peeth, home to Asia’s largest Shivalinga, to boost its spiritual and cultural significance. Additionally, she allocated ₹11 crore for the comprehensive development of Chandipur Beach, a popular coastal destination known for its unique receding tides.

In a major boost to eco-tourism, the Deputy Chief Minister revealed plans to establish an Eco-Retreat along the Balasore coastline, set to commence this year. This initiative aims to attract tourists seeking sustainable and nature-centric experiences.

Parida emphasized that further development projects across various beaches in the district are in the pipeline, designed to enhance infrastructure and draw more visitors.

During her visit, Parida conducted an aerial survey of the beaches via helicopter to assess their current state.

She later held discussions with Commissioner-cum-Secretary Tourism Balwant Singh, along with local MPs and MLAs, to strategize on accelerating tourism development in the region.

The announcements have sparked optimism among local stakeholders, who see these initiatives as a step toward positioning Balasore as a key tourism hub in Odisha.
