New Delhi: The 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 opened its doors to exhibitors on Friday at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with Odisha making a striking impression through its thoughtfully curated state pavilion.

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the Odisha Pavilion, marking the beginning of the State’s vibrant and engaging presence at the 14-day global trade event.

This year’s IITF, themed around ‘Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat’, brings together delegates, entrepreneurs, artisans, and visitors from across the world to celebrate India’s socio-economic achievements and rich cultural mosaic. Among the key attractions is the Odisha Mandap, which offers an evocative narrative of the State’s indigenous art, culture, heritage, and rapidly transforming developmental landscape.

Located at Hall No. 4, First Floor, the Odisha Pavilion has been conceptualized as an immersive space that harmoniously blends the State’s ancient traditions with its modern aspirations. Deputy CM Parida praised the pavilion’s innovative design and expressed confidence that it would remain a major crowd-puller throughout the fair.

“The pavilion reflects Odisha’s development in agriculture, tourism, heritage, industries, trade, and other sectors. The display of art and crafts, spiritual tourism, handlooms, and indigenous products will definitely attract visitors,” she said, emphasizing that Odisha’s leadership in women empowerment is visible through the active participation of women-led enterprises at IITF 2025.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by senior government officials including Special Resident Commissioner Ritu Arora, Additional Resident Commissioner Sucharita Sarangi, Director I&PR Anuj Kumar Das Pattanaik, Director (Technical) Gurbir Singh, and Pavilion Director Aswini Kumar Bhoi.

Showcasing 28 thematic stalls from various State departments, the pavilion highlights Odisha’s achievements and growth potential across multiple sectors. From rural products such as organic spices, coffee, bamboo jewellery, and organic food items produced by Subhadra Shakti women, the pavilion offers a comprehensive glimpse into the entrepreneurial spirit of the State.

A stunning replica of the Singha Dwara (Lion’s Gate) of the Jagannath Temple, Puri, forms the pavilion’s main entrance, symbolizing Odisha’s profound spiritual and cultural identity. Inside, visitors can explore representations of the Dhauli Shanti Stupa, exquisite Dhokra metal crafts, and a detailed model of Paradip Port with a ship. Another entrance features the Boita Dwara, paying tribute to Odisha’s ancient maritime legacy and global trade history.

Adding to the experiential appeal, the pavilion hosts live demonstrations by traditional artisans showcasing Pattachitra painting, Silver Filigree work, Sabai Grass crafts, and Lac artistry — offering visitors a window into Odisha’s timeless craftsmanship.

The Odisha Pavilion is poised to be a major highlight of IITF 2025, promising a visually rich and informative journey into a Transforming Odisha under Vision @2036.
