Bhubaneswar: A review meeting on Digital Crop Survey was held in the conference hall of Lok Seba Bhavan here on Monday.
The review meeting was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.
According to an official press release, Principal Secretary Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Agriculture Premchandra Choudhary and other senior officers attended the meeting. Collectors of all the districts of the state participated in the review through video conferencing.
A digital crop survey is being conducted through the e-Chasa app, in which data on farmers’ crop and farmland are being shared with the government. The survey will continue till 30th of September.
Based on the survey, farmers will get financial benefits under CM-Kisan and many other schemes. The first installment of CM-Kisan will be paid to farmers through DBT on September 8.
Singh Deo said that all left out eligible farmers will benefit from this.
The farmer’s data will be kept in a registry along with the ID. For this, nodal officers will be present in every district and they will directly visit the field and oversee the survey. They will collect data of left out eligible beneficiaries and inform the department. Principal Secretary Padhee said that a set of guidelines will be prepared on this and CM-Kisan portal will remain open round the year.
Farmers will not be required to pay any fee for applying or updating data through the new portal. All expenses will be borne by the government.
Lastly, Collectors discussed their problems with the departmental officers. Odisha is emerging as a leading state across the country in the use of digital technology for the betterment of agriculture and farmers in the state.
