Bhubaneswar: A review meeting on the Simplified Application For Agricultural Loans (SAFAL) initiative was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, at Krushi Bhavan today.
The Deputy CM emphasized the need to increase farmer participation in SAFAL within a time-bound framework, ensuring the maximum utilization of agricultural loan benefits.
Singh Deo highlighted the importance of this initiative in empowering farmers and strengthening the agricultural sector in Odisha.
Senior officials, including Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, and Rajesh Pravakar Patil, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Cooperation Department, participated in the meeting. They provided valuable suggestions to enhance the effectiveness of the SAFAL program and ensure its success.
The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to streamlining financial access for farmers and improving their economic resilience.
