Bargarh: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo on Sunday urged the farmers not to fall into the trap of anti-farmer people who are instigating the farmers to take to the street against the state government.
Addressing a gathering at Sohela in Bargarh district on Sunday on the occasion of the launch of Rs 800 additional input assistance to farmers, Singh Deo said, “I have only one request to our farmer brothers. I urge them not to fall into the trap laid by leaders who instigate you to go against our government. You will be at a loss if you listen to them. These leaders are not your friends; they are not concerned about your well-being, but only about their personal interests and survival.”
“During the Padmapur by-election, these leaders provoked you to vote against Pradeep Purohit. Always remember that these leaders are not with the people. They are misleading you only to serve their personal interests,” the Deputy Chief Minister cautioned.
“Our government believes in work not words. What we have promised to farmers before the election has been delivered today. Today the Chief Minister has come to you to fulfill the promises,” he added.
Singh Deo further said, “Our government is with the people and will always support them. We do not support any individual or people who take up the law in their hand.”
