Mayurbhanj: Earthquake tremors were felt in Rairangpur, Bisoi, Gorumahisani, Bijatala and Bahalada areas of Mayurbhanj district today morning.
Reportedly, the incident occurred at around 6:20 am. Magnitude of 4.4 Richter scale has been recorded by Meteorological Department. Reportedly, the earthquake’s epicentre was at Kharsawan under Saraikela district of Jharkhand.
The Met department also informed: Latitude-22.8 Degree North; Longitude- 86.1 Degree East; Depth- 18 km.
Till the filing of this report, there had been no damage or casualties. As the tremors lasted for a few seconds, panic and fear gripped the area and residents ran out of their houses.
