Bhubaneswar: General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR), conducted a detailed inspection of the Mancheswar–Talcher section under Khurda Road Division today.
The inspection primarily focused on safety aspects of train operations, track conditions, signalling systems, and overall infrastructure readiness to ensure safe, reliable, and seamless train movement in this vital corridor, which caters to both passenger and freight traffic.
During the visit, Funkwal also reviewed the redevelopment works at Dhenkanal and Talcher stations being undertaken under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These projects aim to upgrade the stations into modern, passenger-friendly hubs with improved waiting halls, wider circulation areas, better platforms, enhanced façades, and superior amenities for a better travel experience.
At various project sites, the General Manager interacted with officials and monitored progress, laying emphasis on strict compliance with safety norms, quality execution, and timely completion. He underlined that initiatives under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme are a priority for Indian Railways, as they are set to significantly improve passenger convenience, station ambience, and operational efficiency.
