Bhubaneswar: In view of upcoming Khawaja URS Fair-2020, the East Coast Railways (ECoR) will run a special Puri-Ajmer train for hassle-free journeys of the pilgrims.
The decision was taken after reviewing the long waiting list in regular trains. Passengers can easily get confirmed berths in this special train to make the journey hassle-free.
08421 Puri-Ajmer Special will leave Puri at 9 am on 26th February 2020 (Wednesday) and will arrive at Ajmer at 4 am on 28th February (Friday). In the return direction, 08422 Ajmer-Puri Special will leave Ajmer at 8.05 am on 2nd March 2020 (Monday) and will reach Puri at 4.15 pm on 4th March 2020 (Monday).
This train has One AC-2 Tier, Four AC-3 Tier, Nine Sleeper Class, Six Second Class Seating and Two Guard cum Luggage Van in its composition. It will have stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Titilagarh, Kantabanji, Khariar Road, Mahasamund, Raipur, and other important Stations between Puri and Ajmer from both the directions.
The festival of Urs is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm by mostly the Muslim pilgrims at Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan. The festival is celebrated to commemorate the death anniversary of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, founder of the Chishtiya Sufi order in India. The six-day long celebration features night long dhikr qawwali singing.
This year, the special train will leave Puri on 26th February 2020. In the return direction, the train will leave Ajmer on 2nd March 2020 and will arrive in Puri on 4th March 2020.
