ECoR’s Jan Sadharan Special Train To Connect Twin City
Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) is to run a Jan Sadharan Special train between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to accommodate and facilitate the passengers of the Twin City and connect them to outlying areas near Cuttack.
Keeping in view the demands of passengers and to facilitate the passengers of outlying areas of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Ministry of Railways had decided to run the special train in the afternoon from March 1 to 31 on a trial basis.
Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Jan Sadharan Special train (08460) will leave Bhubaneswar at 1.30 PM and will arrive at Cuttack at 2.30 PM via Barang & Gopalpur Balikuda. In the return direction, Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Jan Sadharan Special train (08459) will leave Cuttack at 2.40 PM via Nergundi-Gurudijhatia-Radhakishorepur-Naraj Marthapur and will arrive at Bhubaneswar at 5.20 PM.
This train between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack will halt at Vani Vihar, Mancheswar, Patia, Bhubaneswar New, Barang, Gopalpur Balikuda and Kathajodi Passenger Halt. In the return direction, this will provide stoppages at Kendrapara Road, Manguli Choudwar, Nergundi, Salagaon, Charbatia, Badapadagaon, Gurudijhatia, Machhapur, Radhakishorepur, Ghantikhal Nidhipur, Sarpeshwar, Naraj Marthapur, Barang, Bhubaneswar New, Patia, Mancheswar and Vani Vihar.
A MEMU Train will be provided to run this Special train between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and this train will facilitate passengers of Twin City areas for their movements so that, passengers from Choudwar, Athgarh, Badamba, Narasinghpur and some parts of Dhenkanal areas will get benefit to access their journey within the cities. ECoR has planned this as an additional mode of transportation which will ease the transport congestion problem.
