Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) experts grilled Prayaskanti Samal, son of Prafulla Samal, the BJD MLA from Bhandaripokhri in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, for about 18 hours since 10.30 am on Tuesday. He left the ED office at around 4:30 am on Thursday.
However, talking to the media today, Prayaskanti refuted reports that the ED had been interrogating him for more than 18 hours. He said, “I was not asked anything. I shall meet you soon and reveal the details.”
On the other hand, it has been learned that Prayaskanti was interrogated by three teams, including a scientific team of the Enforcement Directorate. The ED officials recorded his statement about the Barpada Engineering College land case but Prayaskanti reportedly did not cooperate with the officials.
It is worth mentioning that the ED officials raided 10 locations linked to Samal on February 15 in connection with an alleged land scam involving Barapada Engineering College and seized a high-end car and Rs 10 lakh cash from Prayaskanti’s residence.
On February 28, Prafulla Samal was deposed before the ED officials in Bhubaneswar and he was questioned for eight hours.
