Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized the BMW car of Akash Pathak, who had been arrested for duping youths in the name of providing jobs at Tata company.
Akash had bought this BMW car by paying Rs 72 lakh cash. This car was missing for a long time. Now the car is said to have been seized by the ED from outside the state.
Earlier, the ED had seized Rs 29.83 lakh belonging to Akash and his father, retired IFS officer Abhay Pathak.
Retired IFS officer Abhay had been arrested by the State Vigilance Department on November 27, 2020, on charges of embezzlement and fraud.
On the recommendation of the state government, the central government awarded him compulsory retirement in May 2021.
During the investigation against Abhay, the crime of his son Akash also came to the front. He was subsequently arrested by the Vigilance.
