Bhubaneswar: Enforcement Directorate (ED) sleuths seized cash to the tune of over Rs 1 crore following raids at 10 places in Odisha, including Berhampur, Digapahandi, Chikiti, and Bhubaneswar since Thursday. The raids are being conducted in connection with an alleged fraud of Rs 900 crore by Goldenland Developers Limited.
Earlier, the ED arrested six persons in connection with the case and froze several bank accounts of the chit fund company.
On Thursday, the ED officials seized numerous bundles of currency notes worth Rs 1 crore in Rs 100, 200, and 500 denominations from the premises of the company. The agency is continuing the raids at the premises linked to the Delhi-based company.
The ED has filed six cases against the company and its officials for allegedly cheating depositors to the tune of several crores of rupees.
