Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has announced to serve government-run school and Sishu Vatika children eggs and nutritious laddoos in Mid-day meal scheme. In a partial modification of its letter to all Collectors, the School and Mass Education department directed the Collectors to take measures in this regard.
As per the letter, eggs will be served three times a week, specifically on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while nutritious laddoos will be given on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. This directive applies to all students enrolled from Sishu Vatika to Class X, covered under the PM POSHAN and Mukhyamantri Poshan Yojana in the state.
Earlier, on March 26, the department announced that students from Classes I to X in government and government-aided schools will receive these laddoos, made from groundnut, sesame, millet, and jaggery, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during morning classes, starting from April 1. Priced at Rs. 3.50 each, the laddoos aim to provide a rich source of fibre, iron, healthy fats, and energy.
