Bhubaneswar: Itish Pradhan, State President of the National Students Union Of India (NSUI) on Tuesday declared that his organization will hurl eggs on Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik in his public meetings and rallies across the state.
The student leader said that NSUI will take its protest to a new level as the State Government is trying to protect the controversial Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation (BMC) Mayor, Anant Narayan Jena in the alleged sex scandal and Ashutosh Mohanty death case.
Pradhan said, “We have repeatedly demanded for proper forensic test of the controversial video and asked for CBI Inquiry in this matter. None of our demands has been entertained yet. It is quite clear that the CM is trying to protect the mayor as he controls the home department himself.”
Earlier in the day, the hearing on the defamation suit, filed by the controversial Mayor began here at the Bhubaneswar Civil Judge Senior Division Court.
Itish Pradhan and Pradeep Pandey, owner of Niakhunta.com, appeared before the court personally for the hearing. A local TV channel which was served a show-cause notice in the case also sent its attorney for the hearing. According to sources, all three parties demanded expeditious hearing of the case.
“If the video is examined properly, the controversy will end at once. The sequence of events which have been taking place, should come to an end as soon as possible.” demanded Pandey.
