Balasore: Eid is the most important festival for Muslim brothers and sisters. All mosques and Eidgah Maidans remained crowded today. Special prayers are being recited in mosques. The same is the atmosphere in the town of brotherhood – Soro.
After reciting the group prayer, people wished each other ‘Eid Mubarak’. Eid is an Arabic word that means joyous celebration and Fitr or Fitr means breaking of fast. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated with full fun and gaiety in Soro.
The people of the Muslim community celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr today after observing the moon yesterday after fasting for a month. More than 5,000 Muslim brothers reached the Eidgha square in Soro this morning and prayed together.
Later, everyone was wished ‘Eid Mubarak’ and at 9:30 am, prayers were offered at Qazi Mahal and Pathan Mahal mosques. Soro MLA reached Idgha ground and greeted the Muslim brothers on Eid-ul-Fitr.
