**Bhubaneswar**: The Muslims across Odisha celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with exuberance and religious fervor, marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan also known as Ramadan. The members of the community gathered together early morning to offer the special Eid prayers at the mosques in different parts of the State.
People of Muslim community wore new attires and sported skull caps offered prayers at Eidgahs and mosques across the state as a gesture of thanksgiving to Allah at the end of the month-long fasting.
Notably, Ramzan, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims fast (keep Roza) every day for an entire month. They abstain from food and water from dawn to dusk and devote more time to prayer, religious activities and charity.

It is a significant Muslim festival and a public holiday involving activities including prayers, asking for forgiveness and pledging solidarity, social gatherings and family reunions as well as giving to charity.
