Cuttack: An eight-year-old ailing elephant died while undergoing treatment near Mitikapur under the Narasinghpur forest range in Cuttack district.
The elephant was being treated by the Narasinghpur Forest Division and Dhenkanal Rapid Response Team after being injured in a fight with another elephant.
The elephant’s death occurred due to injuries sustained during the fight. However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is released, said Manoj Patra, ACF, Athagarh.
