Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited Ekamra Utsav, organised by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), commenced on Monday at the IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.
The vibrant and colorful event, which is set to run until January 16, aims to promote health and culture in celebration of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025.
As the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas begins tomorrow, the Ekamra Utsav is being held across five iconic parks of Bhubaneswar—Madhusudan Park, Indira Gandhi Park, Buddha Park, Forest Park, and Abdul Kalam Park. This initiative seeks to unite the diaspora community while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of India.
The parks have been beautifully illuminated with colorful lights, creating a lively atmosphere for evening performances. A stage has been set up for nightly shows, where audiences can enjoy performances from singers and children, featuring various cultural themes. Special seating arrangements are provided for visitors to enjoy the night shows in comfort.
In addition to the Ekamra Utsav, other major attractions like the Adivasi Mela, Chilika Bird Festival, Night Bazaar, and Park Utsav have already begun. Starting today, several new events, including the Rajarani Music Festival, Mukteswar Dance Festival, and more, will further enhance the festival’s grandeur.
Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has arrived in Bhubaneswar ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations. Today, he is scheduled to visit the famous Puri Jagannath Temple and the Konark Sun Temple, before departing for Dhauli later in the day.
