Bhubaneswar: Ekamra Walks is set to host two captivating cultural events this Sunday, celebrating the rich heritage of Odisha. The events include the Odia Literary Trail, scheduled to begin at 11:30 am, and the Odia Film Panorama, which will take place at Kala Bhoomi at 5:30 pm.
These immersive experiences promise to take participants on a fascinating journey through Odia literature and cinema, offering a unique opportunity to explore the state’s cultural richness.
Morning Session: Odia Literary Trail
The Odia Literary Trail will feature a storytelling session based on the Odia short story ‘Swapnabhanga’. The interactive format allows participants to enjoy literature without prior reading, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere.
The trail will also showcase the traditional Dhap dance, a rhythmic art form rooted in the Kandha community. Known for its powerful beats and cultural significance, the Dhap represents generations of storytelling through movement and music.
Together, the session blends spoken narrative with rhythmic expression, offering an enriching start to the day.
Evening Session: Odia Film Panorama
At 5:30 PM, the Odia Film Panorama at Kala Bhoomi will screen Ahalya, a sensitive and reflective reinterpretation of the mythological character. The film explores themes of silence, resilience, and invisible emotional burdens carried by women.
Director Bijoy Ketan Mishra will join audiences on December 14 for an interactive session ahead of the screening.
Limited seats are available. Booking can be done at: ekamra-walks.com.
