Cuttack: In a tragic incident, an elderly couple were found dead in their house at Maniabandha village under Badamba block of Cuttack district on Sunday.
Nityananda Mohapatra (61) and his wife Shantilata Mohapatra (54) are the deceased.
According to reports, local villagers found the bodies of Nityananda and Shantilata hanging and informed the police about it. On being informed, the police reached the spot and recovered the bodies. The police have registered a case of unnatural deaths and initiated an investigation into the case.
The reason behind their extreme step is yet to be ascertained. It is believed that the couple died due to a family dispute.
