Elderly Couple Found Dead On Railway Tracks; Cops Suspect Suicide

Bhubaneswar: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Tuesday recovered the bodies of an elderly couple from Kantabanji Turekela railway tracks.

The deceased were identified as Lakhmidhar Rana and his wife Hira Rana of Jalapankel village under Lathor police limits.

According to sources, Lakhmidhar and his wife fought with their son and daughter-in-law on Monday. An enraged couple later left their house.

It appears to be a case of suicide. The couple reportedly committed suicide over a family dispute, police sources revealed.

GRP, meanwhile, seized the bodies of the couple and sent them for post-mortem.

The exact reason behind the suicides of the couple can be ascertained after the post-mortem report comes. A case has been registered in this connection.
