Bhubaneswar: An elderly man reportedly climbed atop of Dadhi Nauti of Shree Jagannath temple in Puri today.
His identity has not immediately been ascertained. It is known that he is a resident of Chhatrapur in Ganjam district, Puri SP Pinak Mishra said.
“He is an elderly man. Now he is a little nervous. We have detained him and kept him in Singha Dwar police station. We will question him to ascertain the motive behind his act,” the SP said.
Breaching the security layer, the man scaled the top of the temple. Finding him on the top of the shrine, servitors raised an alarm. Fire services personnel were informed by the police present on the temple premises.
After a long time, he was brought down by the police and fire services personnel.
