Sundergarh: A 70-year-old man died after an ambulance failed to reach him in time due to the absence of a motorable road in Patakijora village under Tangarapali block in Sundergarh district.

According to reports, the patient was carried on a cot for 2 kilometers to reach the ambulance, which was unable to enter the village due to the poor road conditions. The ambulance was called after Bichhu Dandasena suddenly fell ill at his residence.

Despite the efforts of local youth who helped carry the patient to the ambulance, the delay proved fatal. The patient was eventually taken to the medical center, but he could not be saved.

Locals demand for an improved road infrastructure, particularly in the remote pocket to ensure timely access to medical care.
