Elderly Woman Beaten To Death By Tipsy Son In Sundergarh

Sundergarh: In a shocking incident, a drunken youth brutally beat his mother to death with a stick Tumulia village near Nuapada in Sundergarh’s Talsara police station area on Saturday night.

The incident took place when Bishwa Lakda who had returned home late at night after drinking alcohol, asked his mother for food. When his mother Sabita refused, he ensued a heated argument. Enraged, Bishwa struck his mother on the head with a stick, resulting in her instant death.

Bishwa, who has a history of alcoholism, had been previously abandoned by his wife due to his drinking habits.

Talsara police have taken the accused into custody. The police have seized the crime weapon and are currently investigating the incident.
