Sundargarh: Despite technically advanced treatment available nowadays, a woman in Sundargarh’s Tangarpali block had to be carried on a stretcher for two kilometres to reach an ambulance.
According to reports, this poignant scene was seen in Khutenpani village under Tangarpali block in Sundargarh district, where villagers had to carry an elderly woman identified as Phulmani Majhi on a stretcher for 2 kilometres to reach an ambulance.
The woman had fallen inside her home, suffering severe injuries. Despite calling for an ambulance, it couldn’t reach her house due to poor road conditions in the village. Subsequently, villagers rallied together, carrying Majhi on a stretcher to the ambulance.
This incident underscored the challenges faced in accessing healthcare in rural areas.
