Dhenkanal: An elderly woman died while her daughter-in-law escaped with minor injury after a mud wall of their house collapsed on them at Tarajanga village in Kankadahad block of Dhenkanal district in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Reportedly, 73-year-old Kadali Sahu of the village and her family members including daughter-in-law Rina Sahu were fast asleep when the mud wall collapsed on them at around 3 AM. As a result, Kadali was trapped under the wall.
She had died by the time family members rescued her from under the debris. Her daughter-in-law Rine had sustained a minor injury to the head.
On getting information, the local Revenue Inspector and Kankadahad Police reached the spot. The Revenue Inspector assured to provide financial aid to the family after Kadali’s post-mortem.
