Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Odisha on Friday on a two-day visit to campaign for the BJP candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls. He will hold a roadshow in the state capital Bhubaneswar today and address an election rally in Bolangir on Saturday.
The roadshow will be held between Master Canteen Square and Vani Vihar in Bhubaneswar from 6.00 pm today.
All vehicular movement has been restricted between Master Canteen Square and Vani Vihar from 2.00 pm till the end of the roadshow today.
In addition, security has been beefed up in Bhubaneswar in view of the Prime Minister’s roadshow in the city today. Special Protection Group (SPG) commandos and the Commissionerate Police have reviewed the security arrangements for Prime Minister Modi’s roadshow.
Aside from 55 platoons of police force, three units of anti-terrorist special tactical unit (STU) will be deployed and the entire roadshow area will be cordoned off by dog and bomb squads. Earlier, the Commissionerate Police had banned the usage of drones making the area a ‘no drone fly’ area for the security of the Prime Minister.
