Cuttack: A nine-month-old elephant calf was found dead in a pond near Baniabandha Reserve Forest under Khuntuni range of Athagarh division in Cuttack district on Thursday.
As per the primary report, the death occurred due to septicaemia, the forest department informed.
Earlier in June, a baby elephant was found dead at Sorishapal Reserve Forest under Athagarh division. The age of the pachyderm was around five to six years old.
