Sundargarh: An elephant calf was found dead near Kusumudi village under Koida Forest Range in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Monday.
According to reports, local villagers spotted the carcass of the elephant calf near the village and informed the Forest department. Soon, Forest officials reached the spot, seized the carcass of the animal and started an investigation into the incident.
Forest officials said that the elephant calf was around five years old. The cause of the death will be ascertained after the autopsy, they added.
