Dhenkanal: Yet another person was victim to man-animal conflict in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Sunday. According to reports, an elephant mauled a person to death in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Jayanand Sutar (55) of Guhaldih village under Sadar Police Station. According to sources, Jayanand was attacked by an elephant when he went out to defecate in the morning. He died on the spot.
It is worth mentioning here that man-animal, especially elephant, conflict is a regular happening in Dhenkanal district. Almost every day, elephants from nearby forests invade the villages and damage houses and crops on agricultural fields. A number of people have also lost their lives to elephant attacks in the district.
