Eminent Medicine Specialist Prof Raj Kishore Das Passes Away

Cuttack: Eminent Medicine Specialist and former Head of the Department (HOD) Medicine of SCB Medical College & Hospital Prof (Dr) Raj Kishore Das passed away today. He was 86.

Prof Das breathed his last at 10.30 AM today in his Tulsipur residence here.

Prof Das’ mortal remains were consigned to flames at the Khan Nagar crematorium in the evening today.

Prof Das was popular in Cuttack by the moniker ‘Tinga Raju’.

He was not only famous as a successful Medicine Specialist he was also a sportsperson. He was a popular footballer and a tennis player.

Prof Das was born in 1937 at Mangalpur village under Nischintakoili Block in Cuttack district. He studied at Ravenshaw Collegiate, Ravenshaw College and SCB Medical College. He won the All-Rounder Cup for excellence in studies and sports.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das is his son-in-law.

He lived his life on his own terms.
