Eminent Odia Writer Manoj Das No More

Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia author, writer, editor and columnist Manoj Das passed away at a private hospital in Puducherry today.

Das was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Puducherry for old age ailments. His health condition deteriorated on Tuesday and he could not revive.

Das was awarded Padma Shri in 2001, and Padma Bhusan in 2020, for his contribution in the field of Literature & Education.

The Kendra Sahitya Akademi has bestowed its highest award (also India’s highest literary award) i.e Sahitya Akademi Award Fellowship to Das.
