Empowering Differently-Abled Women: Deputy CM Parvati Parida Meets With Divyang Women To Discuss Upliftment

Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Parvati Parida held a crucial discussion on the upliftment of Divyang women at Mission Shakti Bhavan. The meeting brought together Divyang women from various districts, including prominent social worker Dr. Shruti Mohapatra, to discuss their challenges and opportunities for economic development.

During the discussion, the Deputy Chief Minister listened to the problems faced by these women and assured them of cooperation for their progress.

 Parida said that arrangements will be made for selling handicrafts made by Divyang women through Mission Shakti. Additionally, training in advanced technology will be provided to empower them. Special arrangements will also be made for 6 lakh Divyang women across the state. Furthermore, a roadmap will be prepared for para-athletes in consultation with the department, and a special bulletin for the Divyang will be arranged after consulting the information and public relations department.

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasised the government’s commitment to empowering Divyang women, stating, “Our government is committed to empowering the Divyang sisters. Despite being Divyang, they are achieving success in various fields and using their skills to create various products.”

The discussion also touched upon addressing the health issues faced by thalassemia women, with a review of their problems and necessary steps to be taken. The meeting was attended by Women’s Commission member, Child Commission chairperson, Mission Shakti Director IAS Monica Priyadarshini, and other officials.
