Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Monday created a striking sand sculpture at Puri Beach to mark Virat Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket.
The artwork featured 14 sand cricket bats, symbolizing each year of Kohli’s Test career.
The sculpture showcased a stunning image of ‘King Kohli’ surrounded by the 14 sand bats.
In front of the display stood another bat with the inscription, “Kohli – King of Tests, End of an Era.” The sand art was eye-catching, beautifully crafted, and appealing to visitors.
“Today, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket. He is popularly known as ‘King Kohli’—a true king in the world of cricket. To honor his 14-year journey in Test matches and his immense contribution to the sport, we have created this sand sculpture,” said Sudarsan Pattnaik while speaking to reporters. “Fans around the world are celebrating him in their own ways and through this art, we want to say thank you to Virat Kohli. His contribution to cricket is beyond imagination.”
