Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, the body of an engineering student was found hanging in the hostel bathroom at the Government Polytechnic College in Ragadi under Korei police jurisdiction in Jajpur district.
The deceased has been identified as Shubhankar Acharya, enrolled in the Metallurgical Engineering department. He hailed from Keshudurapal area in Ghasipura of Keonjhar.
Reports said that Acharya was found hanging from the shower pipe using a towel. Fellow hostel residents raised the alarm after spotting the scene, prompting immediate notification to college authorities.
Korei police arrived at the site, recovered the body, and forwarded it for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. An investigation is underway to uncover the events leading up to the tragedy.
Additionally, a forensic scientific team was deployed to the hostel to examine the premises and gather evidence.
