Dhenkanal: The eastern gate (Mukhasala) of the Sunya Mandir at Mahima Gadi in Joranda in Dhenkanal district was severely damaged due to a lightning strike. The incident took place during a thunderstorm in the area last night, resulting in a significant portion of the gate’s spire collapsing and debris scattering on the ground.
The main temple of Mahima Gadi, Sunya Mandir, has four entrance gates, and the eastern gate was hit by lightning, causing substantial damage. Mahima saints have expressed grief over the incident and demanded immediate repair and earthling of the shrine to protect it from future lightning strikes.
Saints present in the temple complex during the incident were frightened by the lightning strike. The Mahima saints are now calling for swift action to restore the damaged structure and ensure the safety of the shrine.
