Bhubaneswar: The EOW has arrested one more accused in connection with the illegal digital app (fraud) case. The accused has been identified as Neerav Gupta, a resident of Gurgaon, was arrested from Paschim Vihar area of Delhi.
He was brought to Odisha following his production before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Tis Hazari Court, Delhi. Gupta was produced before SDJM, Bhubaneswar today.
The case in this matter was registered on the basis of a report submitted by EOW Inspector Pranati Senapati who was enquiring into an allegation of one Sakti Prasad Dash of Bhubaneswar. Dash was allegedly harassment and mentally tortured by the recovery agents of the Digital Loan App “Kredit Gold”.
Dash availed a loan of Rs 9,000 and within four days he was asked to repay Rs 15,627. On expressing his inability to repay, the fraudsters sent morphed images and abusive texts to harass him.
“Thereafter, he received call and messages from different mobile numbers which were traced to be the number of a company namely M/s Good Start Business Pvt. Ltd., the Director of which is Nitin Malik, earlier forwarded in this case. Taking the lead from Nitin Mallik, Neerav Gupta was arrested,” the EOW stated.
