**Bhubaneswar:** Estranged senior BJD leader and former minister Raghunath Mohanty on Monday met Odisha Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik at the latter’s residence Naveen Niwas here.
Another unexpected guest from Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Sulochana Das also called on the BJD president and Chief Minister following which speculations are rife on her defection to Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in near future.
Soon after the meeting, Mohanty in his media reaction said, “It was a courtesy meet. I was called to meet the Chief Minister. We had a very cordial meeting. I am a disciplined worker of the party. He advised me to work actively for the party and I promised to work as per his direction.”
Notably, the former Basta MLA was suspended from the post of BJD vice-president after he was arrested in the much-hyped dowry torture case slapped by his daughter-in-law Barsha Swony Choudhury in 2013.
Also being a five-time legislator, Mohanty was denied party ticket during the 2014 Assembly elections and thus, he had virtually gone into his political hibernation since then.
Insiders in the BJD informed that a youth BJD leader, in-charge of Balasore affairs, could successfully convince the party supremo to bring Raghunath Mohanty back to the party fold.
Later in the day, Sulochana Das in her official twitter handle tweeted that she has quit Congress.
I have resigned from Congress party.

Sources said, the Congress spokeswoman may join BJD on Tuesday.
