Cuttack: Having lost his retirement benefits to the tune of Rs 17 lakh, an ex-serviceman resorted to a protest with a sword and an axe at a field in Banki here on Friday.
According to reports, the man in question is a native of Harirajpur village under Banki police limits. He invested the money in a business which failed and he lost all the investment.
As per the ex-soldier, he had lodged a complaint in this matter with the local police in 2020, but since then no action has been taken aggainst the authorities of that business.
A team of cops took control of the man and snatched the sharp weapons from him. The police is investigating further into the matter. The actions of the person created panic in the area as many people gathered to catch a glimpse of his protest.
