Bhubaneswar: Dr Damodar Das, Ex-CDMO (retired), Kalahandi and Sri Karunakar Panda, Ex-Senior Clerk-cum-Accountant (retired), office of CDMO, Kalahandi, who were charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a corruption case, were convicted by Special Judge Vigilance, Bhawanipatna today.
They were convicted in a case of misappropriation of Government money to the tune of Rs 5.58 lakh received in RCH (Phase-I) and user charges Account during the period from 1997 to 2005 by manipulating the entries in cash book, the Vigilance stated.
The duo has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for a period of three and a half years and to pay fine of Rs 3 lakh and in default of payment of fine, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 6 months.
