Bhubaneswar: A special Vigilance Court in Bhawanipatna on Saturday convicted and sentenced a former headmaster of Malagaon Upper Primary School in Kalahandi district to undergo two years of rigorous imprisonment in a disproportionate assets case.
The accused identified as Prakash Chandra Pattnaik was charge-sheeted under Sections 13(2), 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 1988 for possession of disproportionate assets.
Apart from two years of RI, the court slapped a fine of Rs.50,000 on Pattnaik. In default of payment of fine, the convict will further undergo a rigorous imprisonment for a period of three months.
Odisha Vigilance has decided to move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Pattnaik following his conviction.
