Ex-Sarpanch Murdered In Subarnapur District, Two Detained

Bhubaneswar: The former sarpanch of Gajabandha panchayat under the Dunguripali block in Subarnapur district was brutally murdered on his way home to Kenpali village under Rampur police station.

The deceased has been identified as Ballav Kheti, ex-Sarpanch and husband of current Sarpanch Basanti Kheti.

According to reports, unknown assailants attacked Kheti with sharp weapons near Pandarapali village before fleeing the scene. As a result, Kheti suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Dunguripali Community Health Centre, where he was declared dead.

Upon being informed, Rampur police seized the body and launched an investigation. Police, meanwhile, detained two suspects while two others are still at large.
