Bhubaneswar: The Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Angul on Thursday convicted a Block Development Officer (BDO) in a case of bribery in which the Vigilance had booked him in 2019.
The BDO of Ersama (then Tehsildar of Rourkela), Kailash Chandra Behera has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and fined Rs 5,000.
He was caught by the Vigilance while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000, following which a case was registered four years back.
