Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is cracking down on the alleged sand mafia network in Ganjam district, issuing summons to several accused, including former Youth Congress leader Biswajit Patra.
According to reports, Patra appeared before the Bhubaneswar office of central agency for questioning as part of the ongoing money-laundering probe. Earlier, the ED had raided Patra’s Berhampur residence in connection with the case.
It is pertinent to mention that the ED conducted simultaneous raids at over six suspected sand mafia members’ residences across Ganjam district on January 16.
The ED investigation aims to uncover the financial links and money trail associated with illegal sand mining activities in the district.
