Bhubaneswar: Examinations at university level in the State can be held any moment with reopening of varsities after June 17, informed Odisha Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo here today.
“I would like to again reiterate that examinations can be held any moment after reopening of universities after June 17. I will again request and advice students to remain prepared for the same,” the Higher Education Minister told reporters here at his official residence.
Sahoo advised all students to concentrate on their studies during the lockdown period.
“My advice and request to students will be to convert the crisis due to lockdown into an opportunity and concentrate on their studies.
Responding to queries from reporters on the guidelines issued by University Grants Commission (UGC) on Wednesday, Sahoo said, “The UGC had formed a committee with some members in it. After submission of report by this committee the UGC has placed it before the Minister and has issued a guideline”.
The UGC’s guideline will be examined by our department at a high level meeting and whichever is found to suitable for us we will adopt it, he added.
He further told reporters that he would be briefing them again after the high level meeting is held.
