By 2.30 PM Sambalpur recorded 43.6°C followed by Jharsuguda 43.4°C, and Hirakud 41.6°C.
However, despite maximum temperature remaining comparatively lower in coastal areas than in the western districts, life was uncomfortable due to high humidity levels ranging between 57% to 82%.
The state capital Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 37.2°C with 57% humidity.
Similarly, Gopalpur recorded a maximum temperature of 34.8°C with a humidity of 75%, Paradip 34.0°C with a humidity of 73%, Balasore 33.0°C with a humidity 73% and Puri 32.8°C with a humidity 82%.
