Cuttack: The Excise Intelligence and Enforcement Bureau (E.I. & E.B.) in Kendrapara and arrested four persons under the NDPS Act for smuggling ganja. The seized contraband includes 24 kgs of Ganja valued at approximately Rs 8.5 lakhs and one four-wheeler.
The arrested individuals are Ganesh Barik (27) from Phulbani Town, Kandhamal, Mithun Digal (32) from Balipadara, Kandhamal, Balaram Mondal (23) from Aman Nagar, Murshidabad, West Bengal, and Saadhin Mondal (38) from Amoipara, Murshidabad, West Bengal. The accused have been forwarded to court. The seizure was made at Telengapentha Chhaka on NH 16 in Cuttack.
A team led by Dhiren Kumar Behera, Inspector of Excise, conducted the raid.
