Bhubaneswar: As the investigation into the killing of Naba Das reveals more evidence each day, apart from the viral video footage establishing Gopal Das as the man who assassinated the Cabinet minister, what everyone is curious to know is whether or not there is a larger conspiracy involved in the murder and what the motive of the murder was.
As the Crime Branch, which is investigating the murder, is silent on the motive so far and the Opposition and critiques alleging various conspiracy theories, including involvement of the coal transportation business lobby as well as political rivalry, the motive doesn’t seem to be as thrilling as many would imagine it to be.
Ommcom News has exclusively learnt from top police sources that the motive behind police ASI Gopal Krushna killing Naba Das might be purely personal enmity and may not have anything to do with any conspiracy or business rivalry. When Ommcom News tried to enquire what exactly was the personal motive of Gopal Krushna Das, the top police sources preferred not to divulge it now as Gopal has confessed to the motive and Crime Branch is scientifically trying to establish that motive so that there isn’t any scope of doubt later on. The police would officially tell the media about the exact motive after evidence is established within a couple of days.
It may be reminded here that Gopal Krushna Das had written a note regarding the motive behind the murder and had kept it in his pocket before murdering Naba Das. He confessed that he did so to ensure that the investigators would have known the motive from the paper note in his pocket in case he would have been mob lynched or shot dead by other policemen after he committed the crime.
However, he was lucky to survive after the murder and police immediately took him into their custody. But the negligence on part of the local police who forgot to search him in the heat of the moment after the murder prompted Gopal Krushna Das to later tear and flush out the paper evidence into the police station toilet where he was kept in custody. On Thursday, the Crime Branch recovered the torn paper evidence from the police station septic tank and sent them to the forensic lab for collecting evidence.
It seems that after the forensic evidence establishes what Gopal is confessing, police will make the real personal motive of Gopal in killing Naba Das public. As per the top police sources, this could happen in another few days.
